Detail-driven, people-focused professional with a passion for healthcare and leadership to join as a Lead Medical Secretary and play a key role in managing a dedicated team of medical secretaries.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting consultants with managing their Medical Secretaries
  • Managing the rotas of the Medical Secretaries
  • Delivering outstanding guidance and support to Medical Secretaries
  • Upholding confidentiality, safeguarding, and information governance standards
  • Leading and supervising a team of medical secretaries
  • Ensuring high standards of administrative support across the team
  • Acting as the first point of contact for escalations and team-related queries

Requirements:

  • Strong admin and Microsoft Office skills
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • A calm, organised approach and top-notch attention to detail
  • A warm, professional communication style
  • Experience in admin, customer service, or clinical settings
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role (desirable)

  • Monitor DOCMAN workflow and complete all secretarial tasks that originate from DOCMAN and EMIS
  • Troubleshoot any DOCMAN issues and add/remove users where necessary
  • Maintain an accurate and up to date library of template forms on DOCMAN and EMIS and ensure all clinical staff have access
  • Raise invoices to patients for GP letters, reports, Insurance companies and any other service as necessary. Handle cheques and cash received from patients, liaising with finance as appropriate
