Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior or Lead Mechanical Designer to support the delivery of piping, mining and mineral processing projects. This role will focus on layout design for mining facilities, including equipment arrangement, machinery interfaces, and material handling systems. You will work as part of a collaborative engineering team and provide technical guidance and design review for a junior designer, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and deliver plant and facility layouts for mining and mineral processing projects
  • design layouts for mineral process plants and bulk material handling systems
  • produce and check detailed drawings and models within Bentley OpenBuildings and MicroStation
  • review and check work produced by a junior designer to ensure compliance with project standards
  • coordinate with mechanical engineers, structural designers, and project stakeholders
  • ensure designs meet relevant codes, standards, and client specifications
  • support project delivery across concept, FEED, and detailed design phases

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Mechanical Designer in the mining or heavy industrial sector
  • strong background in piping, mineral processing plant layout and bulk material handling systems
  • demonstrated experience with plant layouts, including equipment, machinery, and systems arrangement
  • high proficiency in Bentley Open Buildings and MicroStation
