This role will take full accountability for all manufacturing engineering activities in one or a combination of the following areas of responsibilities: Product design; Process design; Equipment/Tool design; Production system design; Automated systems and control; Quality & continuous Improvement
Job Responsibility
Design, prove, implement and maintain production systems to deliver product on time, to quality and cost requirements
Drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste
Drive product design for manufacture and assembly activities
Drive product CAM/CAE activities
Drive validation plans to ensure robust and comprehensive technical solutions
Develop and maintain project plans and budget profiles to ensure delivery of milestones to agreed cost targets and timescales
Analyse downtime, identify trends and develop solutions
Ensure accuracy of manufacturing engineering procedures, documentation and systems data
Deliver and drive continuous training and development
Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for area of responsibility
Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar environment, i.e. heavy engineering, automotive or aerospace
Experience of leading a team
Experience of New Product Introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production
Thorough knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
Working knowledge of Airbus and or Boeing systems and processes
Knowledge of global completion in the cabin interiors industry
Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD
Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering degree. HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications will be considered where proven vocational specialist experience can be demonstrated
