Job Description:

This role will oversee drawing reviews, capital expenditure planning, and automation feedback for Sheet Metal as part of the Factories as a Service team. The Hadrian Factories as a Service team works across all manufacturing methods, and this role is expected to serve as the Lead Engineer, responsible for scoping, designing, planning, and providing automation feedback for sheet metal across all material types and configurations. You'll be able to rapidly review drawings for manufacturability and advise our automation team on sheet metal best practices, utilizing your deep working knowledge of production and inspection methods for sheet metal. This role will both assist in building new factories for existing production scope, as well as contribute to the manufacturing processes of new products where Sheet Metal is a designed-in function. You’ll recruit and lead 1-2 Sheet Metal MEs to assist, and work with Hadrian’s Automation and Factories Leadership teams to design and ship comprehensive sheet metal production and inspection lines.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyse customer drawings and current state of production to design, build, and guide automation of sheet metal DFM, Production, and Inspection Lines
  • Contribute as a key player in factories as a service efforts
  • Deliver cost/schedule/solutions in partnership with our customers and the Federal team
  • Own CapEx planning, vendor selection, and costing
  • Oversee drawing reviews, capital expenditure planning, and automation feedback for Sheet Metal
  • Serve as the Lead Engineer, responsible for scoping, designing, planning, and providing automation feedback for sheet metal across all material types and configurations
  • Rapidly review drawings for manufacturability and advise our automation team on sheet metal best practices
  • Assist in building new factories for existing production scope, as well as contribute to the manufacturing processes of new products where Sheet Metal is a designed-in function

Requirements:

  • Senior Manager or above level who's technically in the weeds, with deep expertise in Sheet Metal production and inspection
  • Able to travel to assess factories 40% of the time
  • Capable of leading 1-2 sheet metal MEs
  • Able to analyse DFM, and design/plan production and inspection lines for sheet metal
  • Prior experience standing up new sheet metal lines in Aerospace, Automotive, or other domains
  • Ability to move quickly and make risk-adjusted decisions
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
