Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Domestic Abuse and Interpersonal Violence Team as we expand our existing service provision. In recognition of the prevalence and complexity of domestic abuse we are recruiting to a new manager role to oversee 9 newly developed Domestic Abuse Specialist Practitioner posts. The service will offer a whole family tiered approach to domestic abuse addressing all levels of risk. As the high risk lead manager you will manage the 121 high risk provision alongside other colleagues in the service to compliment our low and medium risk support offer.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee 9 newly developed Domestic Abuse Specialist Practitioner posts
  • Manage the 121 high risk provision
  • Contribute to evaluation reports as this is a new role which needs to be reviewed for impact and outcomes and inform further work

Requirements:

  • Social work qualified and registered with Social Work England
  • Substantial experience of managing domestic abuse services or social work services
  • Understanding of working with children, young people and their families
  • Significant experience and knowledge of domestic abuse
  • Ability to identify risk, develop robust safety planning and disruption strategies and meaningful actions that safeguard children, young people and their non abusive parent/carer, and hold the abusive parent/partner to account
  • Confident in using a range of IT applications and will be required to access a range of databases
  • Strong record keeping skills
  • Solution focussed, calm under pressure and work autonomously but know when to escalate matters of concern
