Job Description:

The Lead Landscaper/Principal Landscaper plays a critical role in overseeing and managing landscaping projects. They are responsible for leading a team of landscapers, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, and maintaining high-quality standards. Their role is instrumental in constructing visually appealing and functional outdoor spaces.

Job Responsibility:

Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
Team Leadership: Provide direction and guidance to the landscaping team, assigning tasks and ensuring everyone is working efficiently
Quality Control: Inspect work regularly to ensure it meets or exceeds established quality standards
Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and managing expectations
Materials and Equipment Management: Oversee the procurement, inventory, and maintenance of landscaping materials and equipment
Site Assessments: Conduct site assessments to evaluate project requirements and identify potential challenges or opportunities
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, expenses, and client communications

Requirements:

Minimum 5 Years experience in landscape construction project management, and site management
You live in close proximity to travel around the Northern Rivers for site inspections and meetings with the Ranga team
Strong communication skills and a passion for leadership, training and developing junior members of the team
Education: Cert III in Landscape Constructions
Knowledge & experience of working with Australian building codes
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in landscaping, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
Plant and Soil Knowledge: Expertise in plant selection, soil management, and horticultural practices
Design Proficiency: Familiarity with landscape design principles
Team Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively
Project Management: Experience in project planning, budgeting, and execution
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client and team interaction
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address challenges in landscaping projects
Safety Consciousness: Deep understanding of safety protocols and practices in landscaping
