Job Description:

The Lead Landscaper/Principal Landscaper plays a critical role in overseeing and managing landscaping projects. They are responsible for leading a team of landscapers, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, and maintaining high-quality standards. Their role is instrumental in constructing visually appealing and functional outdoor spaces.

Job Responsibility:

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Team Leadership: Provide direction and guidance to the landscaping team, assigning tasks and ensuring everyone is working efficiently
  • Quality Control: Inspect work regularly to ensure it meets or exceeds established quality standards
  • Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and managing expectations
  • Materials and Equipment Management: Oversee the procurement, inventory, and maintenance of landscaping materials and equipment
  • Site Assessments: Conduct site assessments to evaluate project requirements and identify potential challenges or opportunities
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, expenses, and client communications

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 Years experience in landscape construction project management, and site management
  • You live in close proximity to travel around the Northern Rivers for site inspections and meetings with the Ranga team
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for leadership, training and developing junior members of the team
  • Education: Cert III in Landscape Constructions
  • Knowledge & experience of working with Australian building codes
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in landscaping, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Plant and Soil Knowledge: Expertise in plant selection, soil management, and horticultural practices
  • Design Proficiency: Familiarity with landscape design principles
  • Team Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively
  • Project Management: Experience in project planning, budgeting, and execution
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client and team interaction
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address challenges in landscaping projects
  • Safety Consciousness: Deep understanding of safety protocols and practices in landscaping
