This Lead Instrument & ICSS Engineer opportunity is with a major affiliate operating within the Oil & Gas sector in Iraq. The role involves technical leadership across instrumentation, control systems, and telecommunications disciplines on a large-scale upstream central processing facility project (AGUP Phase 2 – CPF2). This position is based in Leatherhead with periodic travel requirements to project sites.
Job Responsibility
Lead instrumentation and ICSS engineering activities across FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases
Ensure engineering compliance with international codes and standards for Instruments, ICSS, and Telecom systems
Drive value engineering initiatives and technical safety processes including HAZOP and SIL workshops
Coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and lead technical teams in multicultural environments
Maintain strong leadership in HSE matters and promote safety culture across the project
Requirements
Minimum 15 years in ICSS/Instrumentation engineering within Oil & Gas projects
At least 10 years in similar roles on medium to large-scale upstream projects
Experience across all project phases: FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning
Deep knowledge of international codes and standards for Instruments, ICSS, and Telecom
Strong understanding of engineering compliance, value engineering, and technical safety methodologies
Engineering degree
Fluent in English
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate across disciplines in multicultural environments
Availability for missions to Iraq (approximately 15 days per year), with first mission expected in January 2026
