Job Description

This Lead Instrument & ICSS Engineer opportunity is with a major affiliate operating within the Oil & Gas sector in Iraq. The role involves technical leadership across instrumentation, control systems, and telecommunications disciplines on a large-scale upstream central processing facility project (AGUP Phase 2 – CPF2). This position is based in Leatherhead with periodic travel requirements to project sites.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead instrumentation and ICSS engineering activities across FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases
  • Ensure engineering compliance with international codes and standards for Instruments, ICSS, and Telecom systems
  • Drive value engineering initiatives and technical safety processes including HAZOP and SIL workshops
  • Coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and lead technical teams in multicultural environments
  • Maintain strong leadership in HSE matters and promote safety culture across the project

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years in ICSS/Instrumentation engineering within Oil & Gas projects
  • At least 10 years in similar roles on medium to large-scale upstream projects
  • Experience across all project phases: FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning
  • Deep knowledge of international codes and standards for Instruments, ICSS, and Telecom
  • Strong understanding of engineering compliance, value engineering, and technical safety methodologies
  • Engineering degree
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate across disciplines in multicultural environments
  • Availability for missions to Iraq (approximately 15 days per year), with first mission expected in January 2026
