Job Description:

We have an immediate opening for a full-time position for a Lead Information Technology System Support & Development Technician. Smart Offices performs on-site computer equipment repair, network configuration and software support throughout Michigan. In this position, you will design, develop, program, install and educate customers on computer equipment, networks and provide software support throughout Michigan. You will also lead and train other technicians as required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design networks and select correct hardware and software for applications
  • Install and upgrade computers, servers, and peripherals
  • Install network cabling, switches, routers, wireless access points and bridges
  • Relocate, transport and bench test computer hardware, peripherals and equipment as needed
  • Install and configure Windows / Apple software as needed
  • Service and update equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedule
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties
  • Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service
  • Provide leadership and training for technicians and other engineers

Requirements:

  • College level education or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and timelines in a team setting
  • Previous customer support experience
  • IT work experience installing, maintaining and repairing computers, networks, and peripherals
  • In-depth knowledge of IT hardware and software applications
  • Working knowledge with both Apple and Windows platforms
  • Multiple CompTIA+ and Microsoft certifications
  • Basic leadership skills for individuals on the team
  • Ability to determine formats, approaches, content, levels, and mediums to effectively meet objectives within budgetary constraints, utilizing research, knowledge, and training
  • Ability to develop manuals, texts, workbooks or related materials for use in conjunction with the training of customers
  • Valid driver’s license
