Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated candidate to fill the position of Lead Hatchery Technician on the Freshwater team at our Hatchery in Northampton, NB. If you are looking for an exciting opportunity to grow your career, this is the role for you!

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Respect for the need for safe working practices and animal welfare
  • Well-developed English verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in providing leadership to a team
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines for production
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and participate in training opportunities
  • Good critical thinking abilities, decision-making abilities and sound judgment
  • Ability to report accurately, keep detailed records and manage documents
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Aquafarmer, word processing, spreadsheets & databases)
  • Physical capability to lift and handle up to 25kg of material complete repetitive physical tasks
  • A positive attitude and desire to work in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to work safely and effectively indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to work flexibly to meet the demands of the job as needed

  • May assist with maintaining harvest equipment and operations, including loading, transporting, and unloading harvest sampling gear
