We are currently looking for an energetic, hard-working Lead Hand to work as a permanent part time position in our Packing department on our Weekend Night shift (Friday to Saturday 23:00h-11:00h EST and Saturday to Sunday 23:00h-11:00h EST) at our Alliston facility.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate the operation of the Viaflex Packing department
Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments and repairs as required
Work closely with Project Engineer with any Packing Improvement Processes
Responsible for escalating safety, quality, and production issues as appropriate
Ensuring all SOP’s, GMP’s and Safety rules are followed
Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of EBR tasks for FOB/LOB tasks are approved
Assist with batch and line set up
Train operators and provide feedback to Supervisor
Help in the execution of scrap/cost reduction projects
Perform Packing, MH, Bliss, IPC duties on an as needed basis
Support EMS implementation which includes maintaining the department in 6S condition and participating in the IDEAS program
Follow all applicable procedures related to the role, ensure to comply with all GMP, compliance and regulatory requirements
Learn, understand and apply thorough quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
Requirements:
Successful completion of High School diploma or GED required
Must pass ergonomic assessment to ensure ability to perform bonafide essential job duties
3-5 years of manufacturing experience
Proven capacity to operate autonomously and self-motivated to achieve results with minimal direction
Organizational and time management skills
Excellent technical ability with proven problem-solving skills
Quality focus
Experience doing repetitive tasks
Ability to work in noisy and warm, wet conditions

Demonstrated good attendance record in present position

Must have the ability to comprehend Baxter Specifications / SOP’s and determine appropriate corrective actions
Willingness to work flexible hours outside of core shift, overtime
Ability to enter tanks for inspection and cleaning. (Confined Space entry)
Capacity to function in noisy, warm, and moist conditions
