Job Description:

Penrose Health is a multi-site GP group delivering primary care across South East London. We combine strong clinical leadership with professional operational support, enabling clinicians to focus on high-quality patient care within clear systems. We are seeking an experienced GP with an interest in management to join us as a Lead GP. This role is for clinicians who want to influence more than their own consulting room. You will combine clinical practice with responsibility as the senior clinical lead at site level, working within a collaborative cross-group model alongside other Lead GPs, Partners, AHP Leads and our Central Management Team to ensure consistent standards and sustainable care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and line manage the GP and PA cohort at site
  • Provide visible clinical leadership and role modelling
  • Support newly qualified and transitioning clinicians
  • Act as the clinical safeguarding lead
  • Support resolution of in-person patient concerns
  • Provide clinical advice and escalation across the practice
  • Work with colleagues to reduce unnecessary GP-booked follow-ups
  • Improve first-time resolution where appropriate
  • Reduce avoidable cancelled clinics caused by absence
  • Reinforce shared expectations and accountability
  • Work with operational colleagues to ensure clinical capacity is used effectively
  • Review appointment utilisation
  • Identify booking patterns that create avoidable workload
  • Feed back to improve patient flow and access
