Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead GIS Analyst to oversee and enhance our enterprise geospatial systems in Floresville, Texas. In this role, you will lead the strategy, maintenance, and optimization of geospatial tools and data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across various departments. Your expertise will support critical decision-making processes and empower cross-functional teams through innovative spatial solutions.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, configure, and maintain the ArcGIS Enterprise environment, including ArcGIS Pro, Server, Portal, and web services
  • Manage geospatial datasets within Oracle databases, optimizing queries, stored procedures, and spatial indexing
  • Develop scalable Python tools for spatial analysis, data validation, and workflow automation using ArcPy and Pandas
  • Ensure data accuracy and governance through robust geospatial modeling and topology maintenance
  • Create dynamic web maps, dashboards, and mobile workflows to support field and office teams
  • Conduct advanced geospatial and statistical analyses to inform planning, reliability, and operational decisions
  • Implement data quality controls, document metadata, and uphold system architecture standards
  • Mentor GIS staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Integrate geospatial systems with enterprise applications like asset management and customer information systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive GIS experience, including leadership roles
  • Strong expertise in Oracle database management and geospatial data optimization
  • Proficiency in Python programming, including ArcPy, Pandas, and automation frameworks
  • Advanced knowledge of Esri tools such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Excellent communication, project management, and documentation skills
  • Experience with utility or infrastructure GIS, mobile data collection, or enterprise system integrations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
