Job Description:

Lead Foreman are responsible to supervise and coordinate the activities of vegetation management crews to ensure that their work is safe, efficient and meets quality standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of vegetation management crews
  • Prepare project for work and assure work is completed efficiently
  • Schedule/mobilize labor, equipment, material and tools
  • Instruct Crew Leaders in work scheduling, processes, procedures, locations
  • Make frequent work site visits to inspect work and monitor productivity and safety
  • Work with utility foresters/inspectors to clarify work specifications and address customer issues
  • Coordinate permissioning process
  • Respond to customer or property owner complaints
  • Monitor material consumption
  • Organize and coordinate crew mobilization and dispatch during storm-damage response
  • Take lead role in safety
  • Coach and mentor crew leaders in safety roles
  • Assure employees receive training and guidance
  • Identify and acknowledge safe work practices
  • Provide feedback on at-risk behaviors
  • Work with crew leaders to assure appropriate safety equipment
  • Lead investigation of accidents/incidents
  • Manage personnel training and development
  • Ensure skill verification is conducted
  • Appraise performance of direct reports
  • Encourage professionalism and licensing
  • Communicate company values and policies
  • Act as link to corporate office
  • Mediate employee conflict
  • Administer corrective action
  • Serve as a role model
  • Maintain records and documentation
  • Work with Billing Department
  • Review and verify weekly timesheets
  • Approve extraordinary expenses

Requirements:

  • Experience operating heavy clearing equipment
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computers and related technology
  • Internet software
  • Spreadsheet software
  • Word Processing software
