Lead Foreman are responsible to supervise and coordinate the activities of vegetation management crews to ensure that their work is safe, efficient and meets quality standards. Work involves 115KV- 500KV lines for First Energy Transmission PA. Travel could be required based on which line or work is scheduled. Candidates must be flexible to travel when called upon since work locations are subject to change upon short notice based on contract demands. Work areas include Shippensburg, Altoona, Middletown, Johnstown, Indiana, State College, Lewistown, Punxsutawney, Clearfield, Deep creek Md.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of vegetation management crews
Prepare project for work
Assure that work is completed in the most efficient and productive way possible
Schedule/mobilize labor, equipment, material and tools
Instruct Crew Leaders in work scheduling, processes, procedures, locations
Make frequent work site visits to inspect work in progress and ensure it conforms to standards
Monitor productivity and safety
Work together with utility foresters/inspectors to clarify work specifications, coordinate work audits/inspections and address customers issues
Coordinate permissioning process
Respond to customer or property owner complaints
Monitor material consumption
Organize and coordinate crew mobilization and dispatch activity during storm-damage response
Take lead role in safety to ensure the well being of employees, customers and the public
Coach and mentor crew leaders in their front-line safety roles
Assure that employees receive training and guidance in work procedures
Identify and acknowledge positive and safe employee work practices
Provide feedback on at-risk behaviors
Work with crew leaders to assure that employees have the appropriate safety equipment
Lead investigation of accidents/incidents
Work with Crew Leaders to ensure that skill verification is conducted
Ensure that employees receive training to prepare for job assignments
Appraise performance of direct reports
Encourage professionalism and pride in profession
Communicate with employees about the Company’s values and vision
Interpret and explain company policies and procedures
Act as a link to the corporate office for employees on administrative issues
Respond to employee needs and concerns
Mediate employee conflict
Administer corrective action program

Maintain records and documentation
Work together with Billing Department
Review and verify weekly timesheets
Approve extraordinary expenses
Requirements:
Experience operating heavy clearing equipment
Knowledge of and ability to use computers and related technology to perform fundamental tasks
