Are you an experienced Lead Engineer looking for your next challenge within Facilities Management? This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading FM provider on a 6-month fixed term contract, overseeing engineering operations at a busy and high-profile site in London. As the Lead Engineer, you’ll play a key role in managing maintenance delivery, supporting compliance, and leading a multi-skilled engineering team to ensure high standards across the site.

Job Responsibility

  • Leading and supporting a multi-skilled Hard FM engineering team

Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification or above in an engineering discipline

  • Carry out first-line fault-finding and maintenance on mechanical plant including fan coil units (FCUs), air handling units (AHUs), and localized plumbing systems
  • Act as the primary on-site technical responder to major electrical faults or power failures, delivering first-time-fix solutions to protect tenant operations
  • Supervise on-site activities of specialist subcontractors, ensuring works align with safe systems of work and technical standards
  • Take full ownership of the site technical compliance folders, keeping water hygiene (L8), emergency lighting, and electrical test logbooks in an immaculate, audit-ready state
  • Manage the allocation, tracking, and timely closure of all PPM and reactive work tickets via the CAFM tablet system
  • Serve as the professional, day-to-day technical representative on-site, attending progress meetings and updating tenant facilities managers on ongoing works
  • Author, review, and approve high-risk Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and manage the site's Permit to Work system
  • Identify building improvements and lifecycle risks, compiling accurate technical specifications and labor/materials quotes to support small project works
