Our team in St. John's, NL is seeking a Lead Electrical & Instrument Engineer to provide leadership and direction to the all Designers and Engineers within the E&I delivery team.
Job Responsibility:
Providing technical guidance and leadership to the team through work development
investigating, advising and resolving design and field engineering issues
Organizing work distribution of the team with a focus on coaching and supporting the technical development of less experienced engineers and designers to develop overall capability
Participating in engineering and capital cost estimating
ensuring compliance with schedules and control estimates
Performing final engineering review of all discipline deliverables
Ensuring overall customer requirements are met in line with agreed standards and expectations
Developing and stewarding the budget and schedule for the discipline team, including the progress of CTRs
Ensuring completion of discipline-specific as-built documentation during closeout
Liaising with other discipline leads and internal departments to support the overall delivery of services to the client
Liaising with other disciplines through work development
investigating, advising and resolving complex design and field engineering problems
Supports company objectives pertaining to quality, health, safety, security, and the environment
As a discipline lead, supports the Engineering Manager in directives issued as part of the office and Corporate goals by cascading down within the discipline.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Current registration with PEGNL as a P. Eng
A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience, with supervisory experience preferred
Experience supervising design work within an engineering department in a multidiscipline organization
Significant engineering knowledge of Electrical & Instrumentation design codes and standards
Ability to train others in the application of engineering practices as related to discipline aspects, including code and criteria requirements
Solid understanding of standard methods and practice within the discipline included standard engineering methods and techniques.
