Job Description:

As the Digestive Health Category Manager, this role will lead merchandising efforts for the largest category in Empowered Aging. This role will develop & execute category strategy, be accountable for delivering on the P&L, and collaborate across the organization to deliver industry leading growth plans. As a business owner, you will adeptly use all available tactics including Assortment, Promotions, ExtraCare, Digital, Social, Store Brand and Supplier Capabilities to reach or exceed your business objectives. Additionally, your success will require the engagement and further development of your high performing team as we lead the Transformation of Healthcare.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver sales and margin goals by attaining market share and thoughtfully managing all lines of the category P&L for Digestive Health
  • Shape our Digestive Health category strategy by developing an informed strategic point of view and adeptly influencing key partners, including senior leaders while staying abreast of the customer and competitive trends
  • Lead and manage vendor relationships, collaborating and negotiating extensively with manufacturers and vendors to ensure brand and product strategies drive sales and profitability, as well as creating assortments and experiences (both physical & digital) that drive trust & trips with our customers
  • Champion innovation by bringing ideas to market in an agile way, while balancing growth potential against financial risk
  • Initiate and execute strategic promotional strategies and marketing plans by collaborating internally with CVS partners (e.g., Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Design and Store Operations) and supplier partners
  • Contribute to the development and execution of General Merchandise initiatives
  • Lead and develop 1 direct report

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in Retail Category Management, Retail CPG, Private Equity, Investment Banking or Management Consulting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives and drive category growth through innovative strategies
  • Proficiency in leveraging data-driven insights for assortment optimization, pricing strategies, and performance forecasting
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional team members, internally and with suppliers
  • Proven track record of influencing others with and without authority
  • Skilled in negotiating and structuring win-win agreements with suppliers and partners to maximize profitability and strengthen relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, very strong interpersonal and presentation skills and strong executive presence
  • Expertise leveraging MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
  • Experience managing and developing a high performing direct report
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%
  • Bachelor’s degree required
