As Lead Delivery Manager, reporting to the UK Product Director, you will lead delivery excellence across multiple teams and play a key role in enabling the organisation to deliver value sooner and more visibly. You will be accountable for identifying and removing impediments, ensuring teams stay on track, and enabling the successful delivery of complex initiatives. Working closely with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, and senior stakeholders, you will translate product vision into delivery reality by providing transparency on estimation, communicating delivery targets, and managing cross-department dependencies. In addition to hands-on delivery leadership, you will line manage and support Technology Delivery Managers, coaching them to grow in capability, consistency, and confidence. You will set standards for delivery practices, ensure alignment across initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You will lead efficient meetings and ceremonies, understand capacity management, and apply forecasting techniques to maintain sustainable velocity. Championing an approach that breaks initiatives into manageable components, you will foster rapid feedback and adaptation, excelling in complex Agile environments to deliver large-scale B2C and B2B digital change initiatives. Job Responsibility:
Coordinate business initiatives, ensure accountability for milestones and deadlines, and resolve issues promptly to maintain momentum
Provide regular, clear updates to stakeholders on initiative status, including benefits, progress, risks, issues, and recommended actions
Partner with Product Owners on roadmaps, lead delivery execution, remove impediments, ensure rigorous testing, and drive early value realisation
Align with Engineering, Design, Product Service Delivery, and the wider business to ensure shared understanding of vision, roadmap, and delivery plans
Identify, assess, and mitigate delivery risks, maintain regular reporting, and develop contingency plans
Maximise value by driving efficient resource allocation, forecasting costs, tracking spend, and identifying savings opportunities
Ensure high-quality delivery, analyse performance metrics, and continuously improve Agile practices, including Test Automation, CI/CD, and technical debt reduction
Provide clear direction, coaching, and support to Technology Delivery Managers, enabling consistent, high-quality delivery across teams
Set delivery standards, share best practices, and mentor Delivery Managers to strengthen Agile maturity and delivery effectiveness
Conduct regular one-to-ones, support personal development plans, and contribute to performance management, progression, and succession planning
Foster a collaborative, empowered, and psychologically safe environment where Delivery Managers and teams can thrive
Requirements:
Extensive experience managing and coordinating large, complex initiatives, taking ownership at scale, and driving successful outcomes
Proven experience line managing, coaching, and developing delivery or project managers, building capability and consistency across teams
Strong ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences, using clear storytelling to communicate progress, risks, and outcomes
Sets clear expectations, coaches for growth, and creates an environment that enables teams and managers to achieve outcomes
Highly detail-oriented in tracking dependencies, risks, and milestones to ensure uninterrupted delivery cadence
Strong understanding of budgeting principles and resource management to deliver initiatives on time, within budget, and to high quality standards
Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies and Lean practices, with practical experience optimising workflows and using tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps
Works effectively across functions, adapts to change, and supports planning processes that prioritise high-value, customer-focused outcomes
