Job Description

As part of ACC’s strategic development of AI capabilities, we are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to oversee artificial intelligence projects, guide machine learning practices, and ensure the industrial deployment of models in a demanding production environment. This role is an evolution of the Data Scientist position, with a stronger focus on technical leadership and mentoring.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, industrialize, and deploy AI solutions for battery manufacturing projects (lifetime optimization, product quality, predictive maintenance, etc.)
  • Provide technical oversight for AI projects in collaboration with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, DevOps, and business teams
  • Implement MLOps best practices (CI/CD, monitoring, drift management, performance optimization)
  • Mentor junior profiles and promote AI best practices within the Data team
  • Conduct technology watch and contribute to strategic decisions regarding AI tools and architectures
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI models (Machine Learning, Computer Vision, LLMs) addressing business needs (product quality, process optimization, predictive maintenance, etc.)
  • Ensure production deployment and monitoring of models by applying MLOps best practices (CI/CD, monitoring, drift management, performance optimization)
  • Manage the delivery of AI workpackages: planning, deliverable tracking, coordination of internal and external resources, reporting
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to guarantee data quality, availability, and governance
  • Provide technical leadership on AI projects and support junior Data Scientists in developing their skills
  • Contribute to technology watch and continuous improvement of AI and MLOps practices

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in AI/ML within an industrial environment
  • Hands-on experience deploying AI models to production, managing pipelines, and implementing CI/CD
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, share knowledge, and support team skill development
  • Excellent communication skills, strong pedagogical approach, analytical and synthesis abilities
  • French: fluent
  • English: fluent to bilingual
  • Languages: Python (expert), SQL
  • AI/ML Libraries: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, OpenCV, MLflow
  • Platforms: Azure, Databricks, Spark ML
  • DevOps/MLOps Tools: GitLab, Azure DevOps, Databricks Asset Bundle, Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, Terraform
