Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join the Conduct Analytics and Reporting (CAR) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Conduct Management leaders to address compliance challenges by developing AI/ML solutions using custom, open-source, and proprietary models.

Job Responsibility:

Envision, design, develop, and implement custom AI/ML models
Lead or participate in complex initiatives and deliverables by utilizing advanced algorithms and statistical techniques
Execute analytical experiments and create innovative statistical techniques to discover solutions for abstract business problems across Conduct Management domain
Interpret and analyze data using advanced analytics methods to recommend ways to solve problems and influence business decisions
Provide expertise to leadership on implementing innovative AI/ML-driven business solutions that are strategically focused
Serve as an expert advisor to Conduct Management executives on complex, visible, and diverse solutions
Enforce and establish best practices related to data quality and governance

Requirements:

5+ years of Analytics, Data Science, Statistics or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science

Nice to have:

3+ years of experience with AI/ML concepts, including large language models (LLMs), deep learning, or natural language processing (NLP)
2+ years of experience with SDLC and Agile tools such as JIRA, GitHub, Confluence etc.
Proficiency in SQL, Python / R, and other programming languages
Experience with large production data sets and in statistical testing
Strong analytical skills, with experience using data and insights to inform business decisions
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teams
Experience extracting data-driven insights from technical systems and business processes
