Job Description:

Citigroup is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Java-focused Data Engineer for its Risk Data Team within the Fixed Income Technology division. This role involves working on real-time data acquisition solutions, leveraging technologies like Kafka, Flink, and Pinot, working with large data sets stored on S3, and collaborating in a global development team.

Job Responsibility:

Providing exceptional services in business analysis, project management, application development, quality assurance, and integration with in-house developed technology solutions
Building and improving a fully-fledged data acquisition Realtime/EOD Risk process using technologies like Kafka, Flink, and Pinot for real-time data
Working with large data sets on S3 queried using Trino
Identifying ways to improve data reliability and efficiency
Conducting peer code reviews

Requirements:

Data engineer with a strong command over Java (version 11 or higher) with SQL knowledge
Strong knowledge of multithreading, thread pools, OOP concepts, and design patterns
Experience working in an Agile software development environment
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and Peer code review

Nice to have:

Hands-on production experience with distributed stream processing frameworks: Flink, Spark Streaming, Kafka Streams
Experience with deployment platform such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, API development experience
Experience with working truly Global development Team
Experience with object storage solutions (S3, GCS) is a plus
Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
Strong communication skills and attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated leadership skills
Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
