Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer to reside within the Central Control Management function. This position is within the Control Inventory Maintenance & Monitoring team which is responsible for the enterprise Control Optimization plan, which drives a consistent and effective approach to identifying common and expected controls across the company.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the Control Optimization plan and control assessment with key program stakeholders from front line
  • Assist in stabilizing the control inventory framework through the development and maintenance of common and expected control considerations to reduce inconsistency/redundancy
  • Perform thematic analysis on control similarities to determine potential common and expected controls for Program/Control Owner recommendations
  • Collaborate with management on the development of reporting and monitoring routines to support Control Optimization progression towards control maturity goals and to provide front line visibility of controls
  • Maintain common control database within ICP – Control Optimization Tool
  • Support horizontal automation across BG/EFs

Requirements:

5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice to have:

  • Ability to support end to end execution of internal control program responsibilities, including control identification and documentation
  • Knowledge and understanding of internal controls and Internal Control Policy
  • Foundational knowledge and prior experience to Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
  • Prior business or central control experience, with direct experience with control drafting, issues management, EBCE, testing, etc.
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual team environment where other team members, team management, and business partners are in multiple locations
  • Strong ability to convey information in a clear, concise manner, in both written and verbal formats, with senior level leaders
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment, with compressed timeframes requiring solid understanding of governing policies and procedures
  • Talent for engaging partners across all lines of defense in open dialogue and negotiation
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk applications i.e. Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) and ICP – Control Optimization Tool
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Risk Management Framework, enterprise risk management tools and programs
