Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer within the Chief Operating Office (COO) Control team. The responsibilities include risk identification and assessment, control and issue management, control design and evaluation, control reporting and governance, and other control programs. This role also includes designing controls in partnership with business owners, including effectiveness measures, implementation support, validation of effectiveness post implementation; and controls evaluation based on defined triggers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks
  • Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management
  • Monitor moderately complex business specific programs
  • Provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls
  • Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls
  • Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks
  • Provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
  • Lead Control Management project or virtual teams

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience
  • Strong knowledge of issue management policies, processes, and platforms (e.g., Veritas, SNOW, SHRP)
  • Experience designing and evaluating effective controls, governance programs, and supporting metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions
  • Knowledge of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) concepts
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management frameworks
  • Experience in operational, compliance, or audit risk management within the financial services industry
  • Ability to assess processes and procedures, identify control gaps, and ensure data integrity in control reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, organize, and interpret data
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt quickly to changing business needs
  • Experience collaborating across business and functional areas in a large enterprise environment
