Job Description:

The role requires a Lead Contentful Developer to drive the launch of a client's website for an established digital marketing agency. This role requires strong front-end and back-end skills to design, develop, and maintain complex content-driven web applications using Contentful CMS. The ideal candidate will collaborate with designers, product managers, backend developers, and stakeholders to deliver high-performance, scalable digital experiences, with a primary focus on overseeing the end-to-end website launch process.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the development and launch of client websites, ensuring seamless integration and deployment using Contentful CMS
  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced content models, content types, and workflows in Contentful
  • Integrate Contentful with frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue, or Angular, and back-end technologies like Node.js, Express, or serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda)
  • Consume and optimize Contentful APIs (REST & GraphQL) to deliver dynamic, personalized content
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces
  • Work closely with backend teams to integrate third-party services, APIs, databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL), and ensure robust data handling
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, SEO, security, and cross-browser compatibility
  • Implement advanced best practices for content versioning, localization, permissions, and multi-environment setups
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex application issues, including performance bottlenecks and integration challenges
  • Participate in and lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers
  • Support content editors, provide technical guidance, and drive architectural decisions for headless CMS implementations

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience (8+ years) with Contentful CMS in enterprise-level projects
  • Expert proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with strong front-end and back-end development skills
  • Proven expertise with frontend frameworks like React, Next.js, or similar, and back-end technologies such as Node.js, APIs, and databases
  • In-depth hands-on experience with Contentful REST & GraphQL APIs, including custom extensions and apps
  • Strong understanding of headless CMS architecture, microservices, and full-stack web development
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and modern web standards
  • Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems
  • Solid grasp of web performance optimization, SEO best practices, accessibility (WCAG), and security protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills, with experience in agile environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
