Job Description

The Lead Completion Engineer will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all Systems Completion activities for a major offshore compression project. The scope includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of two large offshore compression complexes. The role begins in the Home Office, focusing on planning, procedures, certification systems, and coordination with engineering teams. The position will then transition to the site to lead construction completions, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and final handover.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop the overall Systems Completion execution strategy for multiple offshore platforms and associated facilities
  • Establish system boundaries and Completion Packages covering compression modules, power generation units, utility systems, accommodation modules, flares, and bridge-linked structures
  • Determine manpower, resource loading, and scheduling requirements through all completions phases
  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, quality, commissioning, and offshore operations to align all priorities and deliverables
  • Ensure all construction and installation work undergoes required inspections, checks, and tests as per the Systems Completion procedure
  • Lead the preparation and sign-off of Mechanical Completion (MC), Pre-Commissioning (PC), and Commissioning documentation
  • Monitor progress across multiple offshore facilities and ensure timely readiness for handover milestones
  • Manage interfaces with fabrication yards, offshore installation teams, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning teams
  • Oversee punch list management, closure, and verification across all platforms and systems
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary completions team across engineering, fabrication, and offshore environments
  • Mentor junior engineers and completions personnel on systems, procedures, and CMS use
  • Chair completions coordination meetings and progress reviews
  • Ensure accurate use of the project’s Completions Management System (CMS), including certification tracking, testing records, and documentation status
  • Validate As-Built completions documentation required for mechanical completion certificates and final handover
  • Maintain high-quality reporting to project leadership
  • Ensure all completions activities align with project HSE standards and offshore safety requirements
  • Participate in audits, readiness reviews, and offshore pre-start inspections
  • Drive a safety-first approach through all activities, especially during offshore execution phases

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline
  • 10–15+ years’ experience in Systems Completion, MC/PC, and Commissioning on large-scale EPC projects
  • Strong background in offshore platforms, compression systems, utilities, and power generation facilities
  • Experience working on multi-platform complexes or integrated offshore structures is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in completions databases, certification systems, and structured completions methodology
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination capabilities
