Job Description

Preparation of proposals/bids, contract negotiation and compliance with contract commitments and commercial risk assessment Jobs at this level operate with some autonomy but are covered by well-defined Commercial policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (typically annual volume, margin and compliance requirements). Responsible for medium-sized sales territories.

Job Responsibility

  • Work as a key member of the region Inquiry To Order (ITO) team in support of achieving the region's and/or sub-region's commitments, orders, sales, cash, operating profit, and margin targets for the applicable segment
  • Collaborate with the region Sales, Operations, and functional teams
  • Lead Complex Bidding processes for Mexico (CFE), Venezuela (Corpoelec, PDVSA) and Colombia Government Power & Oil State Owned Companies
  • Lead the ITO proposal generation and contract formation process for high complexity/value projects across the segment with the intent of developing winning strategies to leverage successful deal closures while ensuring compliance with established guidelines for the Policy 5.0 risk management process
  • Actively participate in commercial and technical meetings and contract negotiations with customers
  • Support commercial operations for the combined Transactional and Contractual organizations, utilizing all associated ITO tools
  • Prepare and lead the regional deal process in co-ordination with the Region Sales team and the local risk teams
  • Support the regional Sales team before/during Customer meetings/negotiations
  • Continuously identify and refine the proposal processes across the Core business, with special emphasis on Lean and simplification opportunities for improvement and waste reduction
  • Support regional platform operating metrics, centered on offerings and individual productivity, to promote proposal throughput, yield, cost, and efficiency
  • Ensure process adherence to all government contracting requirements with support from GE legal resources
  • Enforce order-booking requirements and manage the ITO-OTR turnover process to ensure the effective hand-off of contracts to the OTR team

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Sales, Commercial Operations, Sales & Business Development
  • 4+ years of experience within Governmental Bidding processes, Power Generation business or Government Customers in Mexico, Colombia Venezuela and Central America
  • Finance, Marketing, Law, Engineering, business, technical (or equivalent) degree from a 4-year educational institution
  • Fluent in Spanish & English

Nice to have

  • Excellent technical and commercial writing and reading comprehension skills
  • 5+ years of Commercial experience with Services and Upgrades solutions in the Power Generation and/or Energy Industry
  • Experience managing large complex deals with multi-functional interactions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple individual and team responsibilities for multiple complex projects
  • Experience within both the Multi-Year Contractual and Transactional Services businesses
  • Background in Aero derivative products and solutions
  • Capability to communicate with high-level management
  • Fluency in Spanish
