Job Description:

This position is starting from the EARLY-WORK-NTP phase sanction with the possibility to continue to the EPSCC phase until the completion of the Development phase including Project close-out. The job holder will coordinate the construction activities within the facility during the Early works and during the main construction phase. This includes overseeing: High Voltage Overhead Line relocation, including installation/construction of new 110kV pylons; Road access and Site Early work; Site CPF and BVS Civil work activities; TSF and TCF land preparation; Onshore Pipeline construction.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the civil engineering discipline throughout all project phases, from detailed Engineering to construction
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables meet project requirements, industry codes, Client standards, and Azerbaijan regulatory frameworks
  • Provide expert technical guidance on structural, geotechnical, earthworks, foundations, drainage, and other civil engineering areas
  • Review and validate engineering documents prepared by contractors
  • Serve as the technical authority for civil works
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Manage interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction teams
  • Conduct systematic constructability reviews
  • Develop and maintain the civil engineering design schedule
  • Define and control the technical scope of civil works
  • Provide input to procurement activities
  • Identify engineering risks early and propose mitigation measures
  • Ensure civil engineering designs comply with Azerbaijan laws, regulations, and international standards
  • Support HSE reviews and risk assessments
  • Provide technical support to construction teams
  • Participate in field inspections and verification of works
  • Coordinate with authorities, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Participate in project meetings
  • Facilitate communication between engineering and construction disciplines
  • Comply with HSE Management System
  • Take reasonable care of own Health and Safety and that of Others
  • Know responsibilities to environmental issues
  • Observe all Company Rules, Procedures and instructions
  • Follow HSE instructions
  • Assure of the safety of his work site before commencing work
  • Take the necessary measures to avert the immediate threat of danger

  • Authority to suspend activities when there is a potential or actual threat to human life, the installation or the environment, and notify the responsible supervisor

Requirements:

  • Engineer/Master Civil Engineering degree or other relevant and recognized qualification
  • 5+ years proven experience in major Civil project, Onshore large project
  • Civil work background is key
  • Proven Civil work project developments knowledge and experience
  • Ability to coordinate the Onshore construction phase (Civil, excavation, roads, drainage, pavements, carparks, stormwater, Structure and ME&I)
  • Eye for detail, quality assurance and analytical working
  • Requires team spirit with ability to work closely with various stakeholders including diverse international teams, vendors & subs, affiliates, HQ, etc
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position
  • Azerbaijani and English language skills will assist performance
