Summit Skilled Solutions is partnering with a leading facilities and construction services provider to identify an experienced Project Carpenter Lead for an immediate opening in the Cincinnati area. This is a hands-on leadership role for a skilled carpenter ready to take ownership of jobsite execution across multiple accounts. The Project Carpenter Lead plans, coordinates, and executes construction and maintenance projects, serving as the primary on-site leader. This role oversees subcontractors and field associates while managing schedule, cost, quality, safety, and client expectations — with regular hands-on field work to keep projects moving.
Job Responsibility
Plan, coordinate, and lead assigned projects from kickoff through closeout, meeting scope, schedule, and budget goals
Develop and manage short-term and look-ahead schedules
coordinate labor, subcontractors, materials, and equipment
Supervise subcontractors and field associates, providing direction, resolving issues, and enforcing quality and safety standards
Perform hands-on construction tasks as needed, including: Framing (metal stud or wood), drywall hanging and finishing, acoustic ceiling grid and tile installation
Installation of wood and hollow metal frames/doors and hardware (locks, closers, panic devices)
Wood trim installation (base, crown molding, chair rail, door trim)
Cabinet/casework and countertop installation, VCT and carpet tile flooring, and specialty item assembly (lockers, benches, toilet accessories, partitions)
Monitor project costs, labor hours, and material usage
identify variances and communicate risks to management
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for project managers and clients
Document daily activities, field changes, and job conditions
submit daily reports, timesheets, and required project documentation
Inspect completed work for quality and compliance
manage punch lists and closeout activities
Promote and enforce jobsite safety standards and regulatory requirements
Requirements
HS Diploma or GED required
5–10 years of carpentry-related work experience
1–3 years managing projects with a scope exceeding $10K
Valid driver's license required
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
Working knowledge of project budgets, labor tracking, and scheduling
Comfortable using mobile devices for daily reports, photos, and logs
Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills
Strong problem-solving skills and sound field decision-making
Effective verbal and written communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
