Job Description

We’re looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and technically proficient Lead Capitalized Assets Accountant. This individual will play a key role in supporting complex accounting matters, building scalable processes, collaborating cross-functionally, and contributing to a strong internal control and reporting environment that meets the standards of a sophisticated, fast-growing SaaS company.

Job Responsibility

  • Own the operational accounting for key technical areas such as ASC 350-40 (Capitalized Software), ASC 718 (Stock-Based Compensation), ASC 842 (Leases) and ASC 340 (Capitalized Commissions)
  • Partner cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Engineering, FP&A, Payroll, and other departments to ensure proper treatment and timely recognition of expenses
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including flux analysis and internal reporting
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy
  • Assist in preparing audit support for areas under your ownership
  • Help design and implement efficient process improvements that support organizational growth

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, especially ASC 350-40, ASC 718, and ASC 340
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and a mindset toward process improvement and automation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • comfortable working independently in a high-growth, fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • Familiarity working with FloQast, Coupa, BigQuery, or Looker
  • SQL skills are a plus, particularly for data extraction and analysis
  • Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.
