Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Cable Technician to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position offering the opportunity to work on exciting projects, including server installations, data center setups, and low-voltage cabling tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cable installation, fiber optics, and video surveillance systems, with a willingness to travel extensively for assignments.

Job Responsibility:

Install and configure low-voltage cabling, including CAT5 and CAT6 wiring, for various systems
Conduct server rack and stack operations, ensuring proper setup and functionality
Perform high-ceiling cabling tasks, working on ladders or lifts exceeding six feet
Set up and maintain communication rooms, including punching down cables to switches
Install and maintain access control systems and video surveillance equipment
Participate in data center and office build-outs, ensuring efficient wiring and node installations
Travel frequently to project sites, with all travel expenses reimbursed by the client
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site

Requirements:

At least 3 years of experience in cable installation and low-voltage wiring
Proficiency with CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling
Experience in server infrastructure and data center setups
Familiarity with access control and video surveillance systems
Ability to work at heights using ladders or lifts safely
Strong communication and problem-solving skills for on-site troubleshooting
Willingness to travel extensively for project assignments
