Job Description:

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Part- Time Lead Ball Park Groundskeeper for ASM Global/Sames Auto Arena. This position is responsible for responsible for performing grounds, turf and landscape maintenance assigned by the Head and Assistant Groundskeeper.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise and assign duties to grounds keeper staff
  • Responsible for the proper storage of facility event equipment when not in use
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are cleaned and returned to their proper place when finished with them
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve grounds keeping operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to meet customer expectations
  • Ability to work effectively as a team and with other building departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Management
  • Perform turf and landscape activities such as such as dragging the infield for in-game maintenance, raking, tamping and watering the playing field
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of irrigation system
  • Assist with the set up and removal of batting practice equipment
  • Prune and trim trees, shrubs and flowers
  • Assist in the placement and removal of the infield tarp during inclement weather
  • Assist with cleanup and maintenance of tools, equipment and the shop work area
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time on hard-surface floor
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to recognize and use simple hand-held, manual and power tools needed for performance of general maintenance duties
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years janitorial/custodial experience required
  • Good leadership and communication skills necessary
  • Skills and knowledge to perform routine manual and physical tasks regularly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills and consistent punctuality
  • Ability to operate grounds equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
