Job Description

As a Lead Avionics Verification Engineer, will spearhead the Verification & Validation (V&V) of safety-critical, real-time embedded software for Airbus Helicopters. You will ensure that every line of code meets the stringent safety requirements of DO-178B/C (Level A/B) standards, serving as a technical pivot point between development teams and certification authorities.

  • Ensure that every line of code meets the stringent safety requirements of DO-178B/C (Level A/B) standards
  • Serve as a technical pivot point between development teams and certification authorities
  • Lead the end-to-end SW verification perimeter, ensuring the airworthiness of avionics systems
  • Define and execute verification for High-Level Requirements (HLR) and Low-Level Requirements (LLR)
  • Oversee Unit, Software-Software Integration, and Hardware-Software Integration (HSI) testing on both host and target environments
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues identified during testing campaigns or reported from in-service flight data
  • Act as a focal point for a team of test engineers, providing technical guidance, and ensuring best practices in testing
  • Drive and defend verification artifacts during formal certification audits (SOI#3 and SOI#4)

Requirements

  • Proven track record working within DO-178B/C frameworks for safety-critical systems
  • Deep expertise in mapping tests to requirements to ensure 100% traceability
  • Strong grasp of Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Quality Assurance processes
  • Ability to perform critical reviews of Software Requirements, Design, and Code (C)
  • Understanding of Real-Time Operating System constraints (scheduling, interrupts, memory management)
  • Experience in managing timelines, resources, and delivery milestones
  • A "test-to-fail" mindset with extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex technical risks to project managers and clients
  • A quick learner capable of adapting to evolving aerospace technologies and standards

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with RTRT (Rational Test RealTime), SCADE
  • Knowledge of Avionics communication protocols (ARINC 429), System Knowledge
  • Experience in Embedded C programming and architectural design (Static/Dynamic modeling)

  • Oversee the verification of incoming PCBAs and ensure readiness of electronic components for integration
