Job Responsibility:

  • Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the bakery provides
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for artisan bread counter
  • Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all artisan bread products, paying particular attention to ad items
  • Ensures the bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
  • Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
  • Follows precise recipes and techniques for mixing, shaping, scoring, and baking of Harmons' artisan breads
  • Writes production sheets for other Artisan Bakers
  • Teaches, mentors, and educates artisan bakers to help them be successful members of the team
  • Provides honest, direct, and constant feedback to artisan bakers regarding their performance and areas of improvement
  • Assists with ordering of product related to artisan breads
  • Communicates openly and frequently with Store Director and Bakery Manager

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One year of baking experience preferred
  • Current Food Handler's Permit
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Ability to make logical decisions using recognized skills and techniques
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, twisting, crouching, and reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
