Job Description:

Randstad has partnered with an established manufacturing and R&D organisation that is a leader in innovative and reliable products. This role involves designing and optimizing Android applications interfacing with hardware devices, collaboration with other teams, and leading Android development efforts.

Job Responsibility:

Lead the design, development, and optimization of Android applications interfacing with hardware devices
Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and backend teams to ensure seamless integration
Develop and maintain secure and efficient communication between Android applications and hardware components (via Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, NFC, etc.)
Optimize applications for performance, power efficiency, and real-time responsiveness
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-software integration issues
Stay up-to-date with the latest Android frameworks, SDKs, and industry trends
Mentor and guide a team of Android developers, ensuring code quality and best practices
Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making

Requirements:

7+ years of Android development experience, with at least 1 year in a senior/lead role
Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java
Hands-on experience with Android frameworks, including Jetpack, ViewModels, and Coroutines
Expertise in hardware communication protocols such as Bluetooth (BLE), NFC, USB, Wi-Fi Direct, and Serial Communication (UART, SPI, I2C)
Experience working with Android NDK (C/C++) for hardware interaction
Strong understanding of Android performance tuning, battery optimization, and low-level debugging
Familiarity with embedded systems, IoT, and firmware interaction
Knowledge of security best practices in hardware-software integration
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and Agile methodologies
