Job Description

As a Lead Analytics Engineer, you'll join a large impactful team of data & analytics engineers, responsible for our entire data warehouse ecosystem. You'll lead our analytics engineering function, acting as the bridge between our core data pipelines and the business intelligence needs of our stakeholders. Your work will directly empower our analysts and business users with clean, reliable, and easily accessible data. You are a passionate data professional with a deep technical background and a talent for leading others. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for building and scaling our data models, while also mentoring the team, setting best practices, and driving the technical roadmap. You'll work independently, delivering high-quality, well-documented solutions that directly serve our internal customers.You lead by example, elevate engineering practices, and drive technical excellence across domains.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, or data engineering, with a strong focus on data modeling and transformation
  • Solid hands-on experience using SQL and Python, with a track record of building & maintaining production-level data models
  • Strong experience with a modern cloud data warehouse like Databricks, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Amazon Redshift
  • Lead architectural and technical decisions for secure, performant, and scalable data products
  • Deep expertise with a modern data transformation tool like dbt (data build tool)
  • Proven experience in data warehouse design and development, using dimensional modeling and other techniques for business intelligence
  • Experienced in AWS Cloud usage and data management (automation, data governance, cost optimisation, delivering reliable & scalable data solutions)
  • Ensure data quality, schema governance and monitoring across pipelines
  • Experience with orchestrators such as Airflow, Kubeflow & Databricks workflows
  • Drive the creation of reusable data products across multiple parts of the organisation
  • Experience with unit testing and test automation frameworks for data quality
  • Familiarity with foundational data concepts such as Parquet and Delta Lake
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau)
  • Act as a technical leader, mentoring and guiding the analytics engineering team
  • Comfortable providing and receiving constructive feedback, particularly during code reviews
  • Ability to independently own and deliver high-quality, high-impact data projects from start to finish
  • Proactive and service-oriented towards our internal customers and business stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions

Nice to have

  • Experience with CI/CD processes for data projects, using tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins
  • Experience with observability systems (such as Datadog or Prometheus/Grafana)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Hands-on experience of building and maintaining Spark applications is a plus
