Job Description:

ACOE is seeking a Lead, Advanced Analytics, Host Communities to help Airbnb enable travel for millions of guests and hosts on our platform. This individual will play a pivotal role in supporting strategic business and product initiatives through detailed data analysis, metrics creation, statistical modeling, and the development of reporting tools and metrics. The individual will be instrumental in driving business and product decisions across topic areas across the company.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct advanced data analysis and statistical modeling to extract actionable insights that inform strategic decisions
  • Design and build metrics / dimensions to monitor product and business performance
  • Build sophisticated reporting, analytical tools, and dashboards that empower stakeholders to make data-driven decisions
  • Able to design, execute, and analyze experiments to measure feature impact and guide product iterations. Leverage causal methods when traditional randomized trials aren’t available
  • Work cross-functionally with Strategic Finance, Data and Analytical Engineering,and Data Science teams to ensure alignment and leverage synergies
  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships, ensuring clarity of communication and strategic alignment on analytics initiatives
  • Contribute towards advancing the Analytics and Data Science disciplines at Airbnb, including driving data best practices such as improving and automating analytical processes, building new data tools and data sets, data education around the company and mentoring and developing others

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in industry experience and a degree (Masters or PhD is a plus) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research)
  • Prior experience in data science, product analytics
  • Deep expertise in measurement frameworks, metric design and metric creation
  • Expert with BI tools like Tableau or superset to develop reports and dashboards
  • Familiar with experimentation, causal inference, and LLMs
  • Advanced level proficiency in SQL/NoSQL, programming languages such as Python, R, SAS and Intermediate level knowledge of data foundations and databases like Presto, Hive, Teradata, Spark
  • Robust business acumen, strategic thinking skills, and the ability to make informed judgments
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of engaging with a variety of stakeholders and conveying complex concepts in an accessible manner
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate and influence across functions
