Job Description:

The town of Great Barrington is seeking a Lead Administrative Coordinator to support the Department of Public Works and help deliver the essential services to residents. This role plays a central part in coordinating departmental operations, supporting leadership, and ensuring responsive, customer-focused service across multiple divisions. For candidates who value purpose-driven work, this position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the daily functioning of local government. This senior administrative role provides coordinated support across all divisions of the Department of Public Works, including Highway, Facilities, Wastewater, Cemetery, and Parks & Recreation. Working closely with Public Works leadership and other Town departments, the position supports budgeting, procurement, contracts, grants, compliance, wastewater administration, and board and committee coordination, while serving as a primary point of contact for residents, vendors, and external partners.
