Take the lead on GI Capital within a major insurer in a highly visible and flexible role. Are you a qualified GI actuary with proven capital modelling experience and strong knowledge of stochastic methods? Then Star Actuarial is currently representing the ideal role for you, contributing to the production of both regulatory capital (Solvency II) and internal economic capital requirements for a major insurer. In this highly visible and technical role, you will support the ongoing development and maintenance of the Internal Model including hands-on involvement in Igloo coding, parameter updates and governance enhancements. You will also be instrumental in improving the calculation kernel and parameterisation processes in line with regulatory expectations, validation findings and industry best practice. Ultimately helping to ensure the model remains fully compliant, you will work across the full end-to-end process of the annual model update cycle: from data validation and analysis through to parameter setting; model design and build; testing, calibration, validation; and stress and sensitivity analysis. With strong knowledge of Solvency II / UK Internal Model frameworks, the successful candidate will be from a personal lines insurance background (e.g. Motor, Household) with experience using actuarial modelling platforms (e.g. Igloo or similar). Relationship management and influencing skills also essential. An exciting senior position offering a high level of flexible working.
