Job Responsibility

  • Manage daily accounting activity by recording transactions, posting entries, and maintaining complete and accurate financial data
  • Lead month-end close tasks, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger balances
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, 401(k) accounts, and other assigned balance sheet accounts to resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Review financial activity and accounting reports to help ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards
  • Process check payments and support timely disbursement of approved expenses and obligations
  • Administer payroll-related accounting and coordinate 401(k) activity for employees with careful attention to deadlines and accuracy
  • Maintain organized ledger records and support the preparation and review of financial statements
  • Identify complex accounting matters and coordinate with the external accounting firm when additional guidance or escalation is needed

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a senior-level or comparable accounting role
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles, month-end close, and general ledger processes
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, including QuickBooks Desktop
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements
  • Proven experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations
  • Background supporting payroll processing and related employee benefit accounting, including 401(k) activity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
