Job Description

As a Lawyer within the General Counsel Team, you’ll provide high-quality, timely and solution-focused legal advice that supports strategic decision-making and helps mitigate legal risk across the organisation. No two days are the same. You’ll work on a varied and intellectually stimulating caseload, advising on complex regulatory matters, supporting major organisational projects and contributing to policy, guidance and legislative development. You’ll also play an important role in supporting litigation and legal challenges, working with internal stakeholders and external legal advisers where needed. Your work will directly contribute to protecting the public, supporting effective regulation and helping the organisation respond confidently to complex and evolving legal issues.

Requirements

  • Experience of providing high-quality legal advice in a regulatory, public law or similarly complex environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret legislation, case law and regulatory principles confidently
  • The ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and practically to a range of audiences
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams and stakeholders
  • Sound decision-making skills and the ability to balance legal risk, proportionality and organisational priorities
