This is a high-impact, full-time position for a dedicated Law specialist, starting as soon as possible. The teacher will be responsible for nurturing a critical and evaluative approach in students, encouraging them to question who holds power in the UK's legal institutions. This role isn't just about passing exams; it's about equipping young people with the "powerful knowledge" required to become active, articulate citizens.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver high-quality lessons across the A-level Law curriculum to Year 12 and Year 13
Foster a classroom culture of high expectations, integrity, and mutual respect
Design and implement rigorous schemes of work that align with the school's knowledge-rich curriculum
Utilise data-driven interventions to ensure all students, regardless of background, meet or exceed their targets
Prepare students for 100% exam-based assessments through regular mock trials and practice papers
Act as a Positive Role Model, demonstrating the school's values of compassion and humility
Engage in the wider life of the school, including supervising legal-themed enrichment and trips to Leeds Courts
Collaborate with the Social Science team to share best practices and reduce individual planning workloads
Provide detailed, constructive feedback to help students reflect on and improve their legal arguments
Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, adhering to all safeguarding and behaviour policies
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and the wider staff community

Socratic Questioning: Skill in facilitating deep classroom discussion and debate
