Job Description

A leading national plaintiffs’ litigation firm is seeking a highly skilled litigation attorney with a strong focus on legal writing to join its Los Angeles office in a fully remote capacity (can sit anywhere in CA). This firm handles complex, high-stakes matters on behalf of survivors of catastrophic injury, including institutional liability cases involving large corporations, government entities, and healthcare systems. This is a writing-intensive position supporting an active docket of complex litigation matters across California. The ideal candidate will take ownership of substantive briefing and contribute to case strategy in sophisticated, high-exposure cases. This is a unique opportunity to work on impactful, meaningful cases that regularly go up against top-tier defense firms.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft and revise substantive motions, oppositions, demurrers, writs, and trial briefs in California state court
  • Conduct advanced legal research on issues such as government immunity, personal jurisdiction, statutory frameworks, and institutional liability theories
  • Support discovery-related motion practice and meet-and-confer efforts
  • Assist in developing case strategy and identifying legal arguments across active matters
  • Prepare internal memoranda on emerging case law and legislative developments impacting plaintiffs’ claims
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys across multiple complex cases simultaneously.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar admission
  • 3-5+ years of litigation experience, with strong emphasis on legal writing
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, persuasive written work with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with California civil procedure
  • experience with government liability or plaintiff-side litigation strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
  • Strong interest in advocacy-driven work representing individuals and holding institutions accountable.
