Job Description:

Performs a broad range of support and paralegal duties for Gonzaga School of Law's Clinical Legal Programs as assigned by the Director of clinical law programs and the Office Manager/Assistant to the Director.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs a broad range of support and paralegal duties for Gonzaga School of Law's Clinical Legal Programs
  • Administrative Support: Performs a wide range of complex paralegal duties requiring independent judgment and initiative on assignments that are sensitive in nature
  • Perform complex word processing tasks such as complex court pleadings, briefs, letters
  • Manages correspondence for various clinics
  • Maintains professional and accurate records including confidential reports and information, both in electronic and written format
  • Scheduling of appointments, calendars, meetings, travel and other events, including the procurement of logistical needs
  • Grant Reporting: Prepare grant reports and grant and periodic statistical reports and annual grant renewal applications
  • Use spreadsheet database software for related grants
  • Legal Word Processing: Ensures that legal documents are prepared according established formats and court procedures
  • Checks legal citations and references, ensures that legal documents are prepared in accordance with established formats
  • Files documents electronically in various courts
  • Additional Duties as Assigned by the Department

Requirements:

  • Vocational, Associates, or Technical Degree
  • 1 year of related experience
  • Paralegal Certificate
  • College or course work in paralegal studies
  • Proficient in creating table of contents and table or authorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
