We’re looking for a Law Clerk to join our Estate Administration team and gain hands-on exposure to probate and estate matters. Working closely with our lawyers, you’ll assist with legal documentation, file preparation and matter coordination while learning how probate and estate administration matters progress through the legal system. This role is ideal for a law student or recent graduate who wants to build practical experience in wills and estates and develop a strong foundation in legal practice. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear pathway into a Paralegal role within 12-18 months, as you build capability across probate and estate administration matters.
Job Responsibility:
Assist lawyers with probate and estate administration matters from client intake through to administration
Help prepare and organise documents relating to probate applications and estate administration processes
Maintain organised electronic and physical matter files
Assist with compiling documentation required for legal matters
Support lawyers to ensure matters progress smoothly and efficiently
Assist with preparation and organisation of legal documents and correspondence
Maintain accurate digital records and file management systems
Assist with document scanning, filing and record keeping
Help prepare documents for client files and court processes
Answer and triage inbound calls and client enquiries
Assist with coordinating client meetings and appointments
Welcome clients to the office and support a professional client experience
Support lawyers with meeting preparation and document organisation
Requirements:
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Professional and friendly when working with clients
Calm and empathetic when supporting people through sensitive situations
Curious and eager to learn how legal matters are managed
Reliable, proactive and comfortable working in a busy legal practice
Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace is helpful
Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment is beneficial but not essential
