Job Responsibility

Processing residents personal clothing and household laundry to a high standard within the laundry service
Ensuring that any items that require thermal disinfection are processed correctly and that infection control procedures are strictly adhered to
Ensuring that all items of personal and household laundry are ironed/pressed to a high standard
Ensuring that all items of personal clothing and household linen are in a good state of repair and to bring to the attention of the Hotel Services Manager/Care Home Manager when they are not
Maintaining all areas of the laundry, equipment and linen cupboards in a clean, tidy and hygienic condition, ensuring stock levels are adequate
Remaining professional and courteous at all times with residents, colleagues, external professionals, family members and visitors to the home
Following any health & safety procedures required of you and to ensure that any health and safety risks are reported to the Manager immediately
Any other reasonable duties, as requested by your Manager, to meet the changing needs of the business

Job Responsibility

Sort washing into relevant groups, where applicable, and process it through the washer, drier and iron. Keep clean and dirty linen separate within the laundry area. The following priorities apply: Bedding
Towels
Residents' personal laundry
Serviettes
Tea Towels
Return the Care Home's washing to the linen cupboard, dining room and the kitchen
Perform minor repairs to the Service users’ clothing
Any clothes that are not marked should be named and place in the appropriate boxes after they have been laundered
Ensure the laundry room is clean and tidy. On a daily basis: wash down wasters, dryers and laundry bags

Pick up, launder, dry and fold facility laundry (sheets, blankets, pillowcases, towels, washcloths, etc.)
Pick up, launder, dry, fold and hang residents personal clothing. Return to room, put away folded belongings, hang clothes that are on hangers in a neat an orderly manner
Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained according to facility maintenance programs and procedures. Clean lint baskets frequently, wipe down washers and dryers after each shift. Report and maintenance issues to the Maintenance department for repair(s)
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area. Pay attention to your surroundings and others while moving heavy laundry containers and Personal Clothing Carts
Keep tract of soiled, stained and tattered items due to use or age to Supervisor. Remove items that are not approved for further use and replace. Make your supervisor aware of depleting counts of stock items when running low
Use PPE’s while changing out chemicals once the are empty. Dispose in a proper manner
Other duties which may be assigned from time to time (Housekeeping, floor tech)
