We are looking for a dependable Laundry Clerk to support daily linen and garment processing within an independent living setting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping materials clean, organized, and ready for resident use. The role contributes to a safe, orderly environment by managing laundry workflow efficiently and maintaining high standards for quality and care.
Job Responsibility:
Process resident clothing, linens, and bedding through washing, drying, sorting, and folding activities according to established care standards
Keep laundry operations moving on schedule so daily volume is completed accurately and in a timely manner
Inspect items during handling to help identify damage, wear, or special care needs before returning them for use
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry workspace by following housekeeping and infection-control practices
Monitor detergent, linen, and related supply levels and notify leadership when replenishment or service support is needed
Report equipment malfunctions or operational concerns promptly to reduce disruptions in service
Track laundry-related inventory and support basic item accountability for materials used within the department
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in laundry services, inventory support, or a similar operational role
Ability to manage repetitive physical tasks such as standing, lifting, sorting, and folding throughout the shift
Working knowledge of safe laundering practices, workplace cleanliness, and basic handling procedures
Strong attention to detail when identifying, sorting, and returning resident garments and linens
Ability to stay organized while managing multiple loads and shifting daily priorities
Comfortable communicating supply shortages, equipment concerns, and workflow updates to supervisors
Experience with inventory tracking or asset handling is preferred
