Our Laundry Aide/ Housekeeper clean and service the building areas, performing a variety of routine laundry, housekeeping and cleaning duties.
Job Responsibility:
Receives instructions as to area and specific work assignments, assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for transporting to the designated area. Follow work flow of assigned area
Sweeps, mops and wet washes floors
Washes walls and trims, ceilings and inside windows by hand
using water, cleaning solutions, sponge and cloths
Clean toilets, urinals and mirrors, dust and wax handrails and other woodwork. Wash sinks and other plumbing fixtures
Clean and disinfect beds, wheelchairs, commodes, etc
Clean louver drapes
Sweep, mop and wax as necessary
polishes floors using buffing machine
Move furniture to clean rooms and areas
Clean lighting fixtures, tops of windows, door frames and other high places using a ladder when necessary
In case of inclement weather, the housekeeper is responsible for the shoveling of snow, clearing sidewalks to make entering more accessible for the next shift
Replenish supplies as needed
perform all related work as assigned
Collects, sorts, washes, dries, folds and distributes all laundry items to residents
Labels residents’ personal laundry and linens as directed
Cleans dryer filters as necessary
Ensures adequate supply of laundry supplies are in stock
Notifies supervisor when supplies are low
Keeps laundry carts clean and in good working order
Properly stores equipment, tools and supplies
Keeps a log of missing items, and returns them when found
Reports any mechanical or equipment needs to supervisor
Reports any questionable resident conditions to supervisor
Requirements:
Any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge skills and abilities which enable the performance of the duties listed above
Must be able to frequently walk, sit, talk or hear
Must be able to occasionally use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance
stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to Fifty (50) pounds
Must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
