Job Description

The LaTeX Pre-Editor / Technical Editor is responsible for preparing, formatting, and refining scientific, technical, or academic manuscripts using LaTeX platform. This role ensures documents meet publishing standards, maintain consistency, and are free from technical errors. The editor collaborates with internal publication and support teams to deliver high quality, publication ready content.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and format manuscripts, articles, reports, and technical documents using LaTeX
  • Apply journal-specific or publisher-specific templates and style guidelines
  • Ensure correct usage of LaTeX environments (tables, figures, equations, references, etc.)
  • Manage BibTeX references, citations, and bibliography styles
  • Troubleshoot LaTeX compilation errors and optimize code structure
  • Review content for clarity, coherence, and readability
  • Ensure logical flow and accuracy of scientific/technical details
  • Improve structure, headings, and layout for better presentation
  • Check consistency in formatting, equations, symbols, tables, figures, and references
  • Validate compliance with publisher specifications
  • Perform final proofreading of PDFs before submission
  • Communicate with internal teams to clarify formatting instructions or content issues
  • Work with the publishing/production team to ensure timely and accurate delivery
  • Suggest improvements to workflow, templates, and LaTeX automation

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in LaTeX (including advanced commands, environments, and packages)
  • Experience with any Tex (or) latex compilers
  • Familiarity with scientific and mathematical notation
  • Ability to debug LaTeX errors and optimize code
