Civic Trees - Landscape Operative & Tree Planter Location: Radlett, Hertfordshire (WD7)  Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday  Salary: Competitive; dependent on skills and experience   The Role: Cultivating Excellence Civic Trees has been a pioneer in the UK arboricultural industry since 1963, specializing in the supply, planting, and relocation of large mature trees. We are looking for motivated Landscape Operatives, Tree Planters, and Tree Spade Operatives to join our team at our dual depot and office facility in Radlett. Operating on a national basis, you will contribute to high-quality visual works and large-scale tree relocation projects using bespoke, specialist machinery.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carry out landscaping and tree planting works to a high standard
  • Operate or assist in operating tree spade machinery for lifting and moving large trees (where trained)
  • Contribute fully to the delivery of high-quality landscaping and relocation projects
  • Work effectively both independently and as a reliable member of an operational team
  • Follow instructions while using your initiative, and remain open to occasional nights away as required for national projects

Requirements:

  • A full UK driving licence is essential
  • Experience in both hard and soft landscaping, or experience operating plant machinery is ideal
  • A valid CSCS card is highly advantageous
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine commitment to quality

  • Utilize environmentally friendly pest control measures, including plant selection, for deer / pest management

  • Perform limited application of herbicides when organic management is insufficient
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines and standards for proper handling of hazardous chemicals and pesticides
