3 years’ experience in either horticulture and/or greenkeeping
Be ability to operate all garden maintenance equipment
Have a sound understanding of WHSE and operate in line with NSW WHSE practices
Good oral and written communication skills
Have basic to moderate written and computing skills (basic word and excel)
Manual drivers licence
Current drivers licence
Current White Card NSW

Job Responsibility

Oversee cultivation and maintenance of trees and plants
Monitor health and growth of trees and plants
Provide advice to clients and the business as required
General landscape maintenance (watering, feeding, cutting, hedging, pruning, cleaning etc)
Order materials as required and allocating costs to each projects
Report fortnightly on expenses including project cost allocation

Proven experience in landscape construction and horticulture
Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and drawings
Strong knowledge of plant species, soil types, and horticultural best practices

Job Responsibility

Preparing plans and drawings, selecting appropriate materials and plants, and scheduling landscape construction projects
Setting out and installing hardscape and softscape structures
Constructing gravel and paved areas, walls, fences, pergolas, ponds, barbecues, and garden furniture
Preparing seedbeds and growing sites for new plantings
Preparing lawn areas by spreading topsoil and planting grass, or by laying instant turf
Propagating and planting a variety of trees, bushes, hedges, flowers, and bulbs
Maintaining planted and grassed areas by weeding, trimming, fertilising, watering, and mowing
Pruning trees and hedges to ensure health and shape and installing plant support and protection devices as required
Examining trees and plants to assess their condition and determine appropriate treatment for pests, diseases, or other issues
Spraying and dusting plants and trees to control insects and disease and felling diseased trees where necessary
